Terms of service

Last updated 31 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and [Owner's legal name: to be provided] (“we”), who operates Kekkai. By creating an account or using Kekkai you agree to them.

1. What Kekkai is

Kekkai is a command-line tool, a website and a stream of signed advisory updates. It gives your coding agent a security checklist, guides and automatic checks, and keeps a record of what was checked and what was not. Kekkai informs and never blocks your work.

Kekkai does not guarantee that your software is secure. No tool can show that an app has no security problems. Findings may be incomplete or wrong, and checks Kekkai could not run are reported as not checked. Decisions about your software remain yours.

2. Your account

You sign in with a code sent to your email address. Keep access to that address secure; anyone who controls it can sign in to your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.

3. Plans, billing and renewal

  • Hobby: 2 projects, $15 per month billed yearly or $19 billed monthly.
  • Pro: 8 projects, $22 per month billed yearly or $28 billed monthly.
  • Max: 20 projects, $42 per month billed yearly or $49 billed monthly.

Plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in your account; your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. If prices change, we'll tell you before your next renewal. Prices are in US dollars, and taxes may apply where you live. You can get a full refund within 14 days of your first purchase or of a yearly renewal; monthly renewals aren't refunded. Details are in the refund policy.

During the beta, Kekkai is available by invitation and payments run in test mode: no card is charged. When real payments start, the payment provider (Paddle or Lemon Squeezy) will sell Kekkai as the merchant of record and seller of record, and these terms will name it. Refunds are described in the refund policy.

4. Projects

A project counts toward your plan the first time Kekkai is used in it. The same repository on more than one of your computers counts once, and removing a project frees its place. If you move to a plan with fewer projects than you use, the extra projects are paused; you choose which stay active, and if you don't, the most recently used stay active.

5. Your license

While your plan is active, we give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the Kekkai tool and its advisory updates for the projects on your account. A computer that can't reach us to renew its license keeps working for up to 30 days after the license expires. Reports you created stay readable. Don't resell, redistribute or share Kekkai, its advisory data or your license.

6. Acceptable use

  • Use Kekkai only on software you own or are allowed to work on.
  • Kekkai's optional live tests run only against apps on your own machine and only with your consent. Don't point them, or anything else in Kekkai, at systems you don't have permission to test.
  • Don't try to break, overload or get around the limits of our services.

7. Your code and data

Your code is yours. Kekkai does not send it to us. What the tool and the website do send is described in the privacy policy. Your coding agent is a separate product governed by its own terms.

8. Disclaimers

Kekkai is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that Kekkai will find every problem or that it will be available without interruption.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for Kekkai in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Ending the agreement

You can cancel your plan and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms; where we can, we will tell you why first.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email you before the change takes effect.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. When a merchant of record sells Kekkai to you, your purchase is a contract with that merchant under its terms; these terms govern your use of Kekkai.
